Keyboard Shortcuts
Promptr has two kinds of shortcuts: global hotkeys that fire no matter which app is in front, and controls that work when the teleprompter window itself is focused.
Global hotkeys
These work system-wide — you can trigger them while you’re focused in Chrome mid-demo.
- ⌘⇧L — Toggle Learning Mode
- ⌘⇧P — Show / hide the teleprompter
Why ⌘⇧P and not ⌘⇧T
Show/hide uses ⌘⇧P on purpose — ⌘⇧T is Chrome’s “Reopen Closed Tab,” and a global hotkey would override it. ⌘⇧P stays out of Chrome’s way.
When the teleprompter is focused
Click the overlay first, then:
- Space — Pause / resume scrolling
- ↑ / ↓ — Adjust scroll speed
- Esc — Dismiss the current content
In the menu
The menu bar also exposes Faster / Slower, Pause / Resume, and Dismiss for the same actions when you’d rather click than use the keyboard.
