Licensing & Plans
Promptr starts with a free trial and unlocks fully with a license key. Here’s how the trial, activation, and seats work.
The free trial
New installs get a 14-day free trial with all features enabled. The menu shows how many days remain, and the countdown turns red in the final few days.
What a license unlocks
Learning Mode, creating and editing mappings, and Shared Folders are available during the trial and on any active license. When a trial expires without a license, those features are disabled until you enter a key.
Activating a license
Choose Enter License Key… from the menu, paste your key, and activate. Once active, the menu shows your plan. A key can be activated on machines up to its seat count — buy the number of seats your team needs at checkout.

Recovering a lost key
Lost your key? Go to the license recovery page and enter the email you purchased with — Promptr will resend your key(s) to that address.
Offline grace period
Promptr validates your license with the license server, but you don’t need to be online every time. If a check can’t reach the server, Promptr keeps working on your last known status for a grace period, then requires a successful check. If validation is ever ambiguous, Promptr fails closed — it won’t silently grant paid features without a valid license.
